![]() Some 64-bit programs, such as encoders, decoders and encryption software, can benefit greatly from 64-bit registers, while the performance of other programs, such as 3D graphics-oriented ones, remains unaffected when switching from a 32-bit to a 64-bit environment. Maybe changing to 64 bit would not make FF faster but would be possible to use more memory, although I do not know since what resolution it would be a real benefit for this. YES, I think this is the main and most important reason to update the software to 64 bit, as you do not have anymore the 32 bits memory lim it, and I know that Filter Forge can ONLY use 1,5 GB RAM even if you have 16 GB RAM ![]() Well for one it stops you fr om running out of memory.Įvery program I have the 64bit version always seems to be more stable and a bit quicker than it's 32bit versions. ![]() Is true that it always seem that having a 64 bit application is much better than having a 32 bit one, and I am included in this, as it seems to be a very old thing to keep using 32 bit, but maybe I am wrong thinking this and it could be that is not always true as it will depend on which application and how it works. more seems to be always better, but is not always true. I think that is only because 64 is more than 32 and this happens in CPU, RAM, Hard drives, etc. I've always wondered why so many people believe that "64 bit" equals "better".
